Volume 18 STAFFORD SPRINGS, CONN., THURSDAY, MARCH 23, 1876, Number 51
•S^Sniidny-school teacher—"Anna, what
innst one do in order to be foi given ?" Anna
—"He most sin." <
—Mrs. Partington is collecting autocrats,
and will be grateful for any specimens of hand-writing
of extinguished characters.
•STSome of our country exchanges have a
great deal to say about "editorial ability."
What a country editor reallv most needs is the
ability to live on three dollars a week and fur-nish
his own cigars.
•STOne thing is certain : If the democracy
cannot elect a president in 1876 they never
can. The republican party was never so low
sis it is now, and never will be so low again.
Nothing bnt the grossest blunders and the
blindest folly on the part of democrats can
prevent its defeat and destruction.—St. Louit
Republican (Detn.).
•STSpring Debility, languor, lassitude, and
that low state of tbe system peculiar to the
springtime of the year, are immediately relieved
by the Peruvian Syrnp, which supplies the
blood with its vital principal of life element—
iron—infusing strength, vigor, and new life in-to
all parts of the system. Beiug free from
alcohol, its energizing effects are not followed
by corresponding reaction, but are permanent.
