Title	Photograph - Eastwinds
Description	Eastwinds exterior view facing northwest from Gardner Avenue. Caption from Thamesana article titled "Mitchell Acquires 'East Winds' Dorm: Renovation Begun", dated Friday, October 29, 1954 (Vol. 11, No. 1, Pg. 3): "...Mitchell has purchased the old Norrie estate from Mrs. Victoria Foster of [New London, CT]. The building located at 11 Gardner Avenue and officially christened "East Winds" is being renovated to house approximately forty-two girls. It has ample space, containing twenty-four rooms and six baths in its three stories...progress is being made in the painting and general overhaul of the mid-Victorian structure, which was built around the Civil War era."
