Condition - Physical
Good
Exterior
The
original
front
door
and
door
treatment
is
gone
, and a
modern
porch
has been
added
to the
front
. This
house
was
either
built
by the
same
architect
that
built
the
Captain
Caskill
Homestead
and the
Prudence
Crandall
Homestead
, or
someone
that
copied
his
style
very
closely
. The
house
is
a
two-chimney
central-hall
type
house
.
Cornice
is
quite
elaborate
but not to
such
an
extreme
as was that of the
other
two
houses
. The
pediment
,
which
is
similar
to the
others
,
does
not have a
beaded
fan
. The
Palladian
window
,
however
,
is
quite
the
same
as in the
other
two
houses
.
Corner
boards
are
fluted
in
much
the
same
way
as
we
find
in the
other
two
homes
and the
base
is
very
high
. This
house
is
in
every
way
more
conservative
, but
all
in
all
similar
in its
detail
.
History
Belonged
to
I
.
Knight
in
1855
.
