Good
Exterior
It
is
a
large
two-and-one-half
story
house
. The
one-and-a-half
story
ell
to the
north
was
built
about
35
years
later
than the
main
house
. The
ell
has a
central
chimney
of
brick
.
Aside
from
changing
the
original
windows
to
new
4-light
double
hung
, and the
installation
of
some
Greek
Revival
type
mantels
, there has been
very
little
in the
way
of
remodeling
.
Outside
of
house
is
clapboarded
.
Doorway
The
original
entrance
frame
and
double
doors
with
old
glass
Bull's
Eyes
in
upper
panels
are
still
in
place
.
Interior
The
stairs
have
small
square
newel
posts
with
moulded
caps
, and
square
balusters
set
cornerways
;
moulded
hand
rails
and
sawed
stringer
panels
.
Some
fine
paneling
and
woodwork
are
left
in the
front
rooms
.
Cornice
and
corner
cupboards
also
remain
.
Beaded
edge
boards
in the
kitchen
walls
.
Bolection
mould
around
fireplaces
is
replaced
with
late
mantels
.
