Location	Bluff Point, 3 miles south of David Edgecomb house, top of hill (only house there). Faces south.

Ell	Long ell runs off the north side, which is a latter addition.

Exterior	The chimney is built of brick from abroad. In the cellar is an underground exit which is tunneled about three hundred feet to the barn on the northwest. Setting - the house sets among rocks with a wall of rocks surrounding it.
Doorway	The front door opens into the hall.
Interior	Hall - closed stringer stairs run up from the left. The hall is sheathed in vertical featheredge boards. Stairway is enclosed in featheredge boards with a hand rail at the top, which is very high; no spindles. Walls - plain and featheredged boarding. One room has featheredged boards all around fireplace side; the other three walls are wainscoted in featheredged boards. Kitchen chamber in beaded boards. Cross girts and 13" summer. Large room across the back, having all exposed beams and corner posts, apparently never cased. Brick oven to right of fireplace. Two summers, crossed by a cross beam from east to west. Southwest room has summer beam perpendicular to front of house, cased, 15" wide. Window frames unchanged. Doors mostly beaded, one of four raised panels without bead. Chimney girt protrudes a part in front of fireplace, supported by square beveled post in front. Fireplace featheredge. Southeast room has similar summer beam and chimney girt. Small corner posts. Chair rail, batten doors, plaster walls. Two cupboard doors of two panels each. Door from rear stair hall to little room has 17th century sunk panels (2). Upstairs porch - smoke room in middle of stairs; called Spy Room. Rail on second floor has diagonal balusters. Southeast room - front posts splay toward back of house; rear posts toward each other. Summer beam 14" wide. Southwest room - has featheredge fireplace wall. Posts and summer beams similar to opposite room. Cellar - chimney is arched in the center, making large room-like space with huge stones for a floor. The chimney is curiously built above each fireplace. It arches out with a curve, perhaps six to eight inches deep. Some hearth brick, in bad condition, are the square type.
History	It is said that the arched chimney was so built to hide the women and children when Indians or other enemies came.
