evidence
of
having
been
changed
at an
early
date
. There
is
a
double
sill
under
the
well
between
the
kitchen
and the
front
rooms
.
Timber
in
roof
frame
had
evidently
been
used
before
,
indicating
that the
kitchen
fireplace
and
dutch
oven
were
built
into an
existing
chimney
. The
house
may
have been
originally
a
two
room
one-and-one-half
story
peaked
roof
structrure
. The
walls
are
clapboarded
.
Interior
Carefully
restored
.
Considerable
old
work
uncovered
and
left
exposed
in its
original
condition
.
Exposed
summer
beams
,
posts
and
girts
;
posts
are
flared
. The
old
kitchen
fireplace
with
original
oak
lintel
has
chamfered
edge
and
lamb's
tongue
;
fireplaces
in
northeast
and
southeast
rooms
;
fireplace
in
southwest
room
has a
hidden
dutch
oven
.
