Doorway	Front central door has raised panels and is sided with freestanding tapered Ionic pillars, outside which are crosswork sidelights, these in turn aided on inside and outside by similar pillars (four in all); pillars support deeply moulded architrave above which is a long, narrow transom plain frame encloses entire door arrangement. North gable end door is double, raised panel, with wide, beaded frame and plain pilasters with carved capitals. Similar transom on same order as front and no sidelights. At north side of ell is similar porch with shallow carving under side cornices. Door, single, with plain, sunken panels and similar pilasters and transom to those on other side of door.
Interior	Another small central hall, in rear of front hall, has on right, a 9 ft.door frame with beautifully carved acanthus leaf in center above, measuring 14 ft. x 8 inches, and leaves at corners. Beaded board partition sets hall off from left room, rear (northeast), which has moulded door and window frames and carved leaves and sunken panels under windows. All doors in house are deep-cut raised paneled. Little square entry between front and rear right rooms leads to gable end double door. The old kitchen in ell, has a large fireplace, covered and narrow, vertical beaded wainscoting. The stairs in front lead to long, wide hall, newels are turned. The door frames and window frames are the same on the second floor. The ell is divided into two parts; right, or south side divided into four square bedrooms, the rest into a long ballroom with a flat ceiling and six windows, four at side, and two at end. The window frames are faced with pilasters with Ionic capitals and have this cross-section: [see sketch] Single fireplace has four Ionic pillars, two on each side. The railing around the room is finely moulded and 8 inches from ceiling. There are very small fireplaces in three bedrooms on second floor. Cornerposts are splayed. Nineteen rooms and a ballroom complete this house. Scroll under stairs. The cellar stairs are cased in horizontal, beaded board above, runs between stone walls below; leads from front of ell. Number of brick-walled rooms in cellar, also a featheredge door. Chimney stacks are stone and very small, 4 ft.x 2 ft. 6 inches; wide stone steps lead outside. The ell chimney stack is 9 ft.x 6 ft., half brick and half stone, and has a stone fireplace with lintel, 6 ft. long and 18 inches deep. A brick oven at left and an iron kettle (drover's kettle ?) is at right. A brick flare holds hearth above. On the first floor, at the rear, is a pantry, entirely walled with horizontal, beaded boards. The little room in front of this, now a kitchen, has a brick smoke room.
