windows

key
blocks
. A
double
row
of
five
arched
windows
with an
architrave
mould
trim
on
sides
. The
middle
section
of the
Palladian
window
on the
rear
wall
has a
stained
glass
sash
of the
figure
of
Christ
. The
square
tower
in
front
is
obviously
a
later
addition
.
One
of the
present
underpinnings
is
a
cider
press
screw
jack
of
wood
.
Interior
Finely
carved
reading
desk
. The
imported
organ
with
good
paneling
is
now
in the
Eno
museum
in
Simsbury
. The
only
other
organ
like
it
is
in the
Harvard
Museum
,
Boston
.
History
The
following
inscription
appears
on a
sign
on the
lawn
in
front
of the
church
: "The
St
.
Andrew's
Society
founded
in
1740
and the
church
erected
1740-42
. The
fourth
oldest
Episcopal
church
in
Connecticut
.
Removed
to
Duncaster
district
about
1800
and
back
to
present
site
in
1828.
