Condition - Physical	Good
Exterior	Central, plain wide frame; old raised panel door. Walls are clapboards; the cornerboards are narrow and plain. New roof gives 4 inch cornice at eaves and 4 inches at rake. Setting - The house is in a rural, farm setting. Ell faces east. An apple orchard is in front of house; a cornfield, grapevines and woodpiles to the north of it, and there are many outbuildings about the place. An old stone sink is at the rear of house. It previously belonged in old ell. A maple grove is between house and roads.
Interior	The interior of front entry in the old ell has both cellar and second floor stairs cased in beaded boards. The right, front (northeast) room, has a 6 ft. 6 inch ceiling; chamfered summer. Left front (southeast) room has deeply chamfered girts and summer; raised paneling over fireplace; raised panel corner cupboard. The lean-to at back, is one long room with 6 ft. 2 inch ceilings, splayed, exposed, rear posts, cut as for corner cupboard. The little corner pantry is beaded board. A large stone fireplace with brick oven, with special oven flue, has been bricked up for forty years. Upstairs the wall next to front stairs is covered with beaded board; front outside wall in horizontal featheredge boards; cornerposts and chimney girt posts are heavily splayed. In left front room is an exposed, square summer, unchamfered. Batten door to lean-to attic has wood hinges. The rear wall of house, to which lean-to was added, still has ancient, thin clapboards with white birch bark lining underneath. There is a loose featheredge door in the attic. Cellar stairs are well worn and believed to be square logs. Heavy, roughly cut joists are found in cellar. Upper porch is featheredge, also southeast chamber. Northeast chamber is cut up. Summer runs east and west.
