Doorway	The front and rear doors open into a central hall. Both doors are double are raised paneled and have openings for bull's eyes; each door has two strap hinges. A small hood covers each door.
Interior	Main House; Central hall; has double doors at each front closed by bars. The stairs run up straight from the north front along the east wall. Raised panel wainscot through even following up the stairs. The stairs themselves are open stringer. With cut out scrolls under the treads; heavy square newels square caps gracefully turned balusters. the floor boards throughout the house are fairly wide. Northeast room; has stone fireplace with brick jambs. paneled walls. Southeast room also has brick jambs on the fireplace small raised panels above it and raised panel wainscot In the northwest corner a squarish corner cupboard brought from the General David Wooster House in New Haven. Northwest room has long low fireplace without mantel. Upstairs in Main house; front and rear posts are massive and splayed no other cornerposts visible. ceiling height about 7'4" four raised panel doors beaded and moulded; frames throughout. the rear windows are 12/12; 8/12 in front heavy muntins. there were originally 3 fireplaces one is now closed; two smaller ones are open ine is all stone and has a deep moulding on cornice and a 10" beaded and moulded frame. the other fireplace has a brick backing stone jambs and a narrow beaded and moulded frame. HL hinges are used throughout. at one end of the floor is a narrow little closet with stone walls built into the stone gables. 1767 Wing; now belonging to the caretaker, is oldest section still standing. the old kitchen adjoining the main house has two fairly heavy hacked summer beams. a good corner cupboard a large fireplace and fireplace wall covered with beaded boarding pierced by several batten doors two walls of this room are of bare brownstone one other having flush board wainscoting. back of this room is the present kitchen, the wall seperating the two rooms being of stone exposed only in the kitchen. practically all the latches in all units of thise [sic] house are of a conventional pattern. Ball room wing; First floor kitchen runs the entire length two heavy summers connected by heavy cross beam running from end girt to end girt; joists run the width of the room small stone fireplace Dutch oven stone sink nearby. plain board corner cupboard. one door swings on H hinges and the lower door on one strap and one hinge. small extension wing has a small chamfered corner posts. windows are 12/8 sash; heavy muntins. Second floor; ballroom has a vaulted ceiling. light beaded corner posts, flush wainscoting. second floor extension shows slightly chamfered corner post; a window between little extension and main ballroom, 12/12 sash wide muntins, pegged frame also beaded. door frame between rooms elaborately cut with four raised panels with one quarter round moulding. The leanto roof of ballroom wing meets main house above plates and halfway up attic gable windows. the little hallway extension wing is flush with end of ballroom wing and leads into the main house.
