Exterior	Exceptionally good example of early 19th century construction. Walls - hand made brick, painted yellow; laid in a running bond, with header courses at irregular intervals; bricks measure about 8 1/4" x 2 3/8" x 3 3/4", varying slightly in size and lay four courses to 10 1/4". Cornice - well designed and finely proportioned feature in good scale with the whole composition; formed with delicate mouldings, small flat brackets and dentils; the lower part of the frieze is enriched with a small diamond pattern; rakes are finished to match cornice. Piazza - on west front; later. Setting - well back from and high above the road; stone terrace wall at roadside; stone posts and steps.
Doorway	In west front has a large door and two double hung sidelights with two over two sash; leaded glass transom; four pilasters. A well designed side entrance on the south side has a six sunken paneled door with complex mouldings; arched head and leaded transom; two very narrow fluted pilasters; paneled jambs and soffit.
Interior	There is a large spacious central hall with wide open stairs and open stringer, moulded rail with ramps and spiral turn at the bottom. The stairs in the rear portion of the hall are separated from the front by a large elliptical arch springing from the top of the wood pilasters. The rooms are large and square with high ceilings. The principal rooms on the first floor have fireplaces with elaborate early 19th century mantels. The doors and window casings are wide, and formed with delicate mouldings.
