Doorway	Modern door with plain casing.
Interior	Porch' has stairs running from left to right. The scrolls under the stair, the high rail without balusters, and the raised paneling under might appear later than the house - perhaps c. 1780 when changes seem to have been made. The second floor rail has unusually heavy square balusters, set diagonally. Opposite in the chimney is a four-pane wide muntin window into a closet. A two paneled door to the old cellar stair is now removed. The chimney girt in the porch and the south front room measures 14" across the 13 1/2" high. South front room - old flooring under hardwood. Ceiling 7' 41/2". Corner posts smaller than in north room. Summer beam 14 1/2" x 8". Two paneled doors. Paneling on fireplace wall. Recessed fireplace occupies only about half the width of the recess. Three square raised paneled cupboards over, separated by narrow panels and hinged with butterfly hinges. Modern southwest corner cupboard. North front room - old flooring under hardwood. Summer 13". Corner posts larger than in south room, 10" x 8". Paneled fireplace wall, two panels deep, early but fairly elaborate. Two paneled doors except for new wide door into end room. Ceiling 7' 41/2". Extreme north front room - perhaps added later to original house. Cased summer is parallel with the front, but is not a continuation of the main summer in the next room. The room is plain; walls papered. Ceiling 7' 4 1/2". Kitchen - modern matched board ceiling. Brick fireplace blocked up; brick oven having iron door and wood box on left side; plain mantel. Upstirs - north front room has paneled wall end, two deep. South room has plainer paneling, very heavy bolection moulding. Small brick fireplace with stone slate hearth. Ceilings 7' 4". To front of fireplace in south room is a door with round-headed top, with square raised panel enclosed under it; closet with cloverleaf shelves behind it. Separate door to lower cupboard. Rear chamber is plastered and has splayed posts. The heaviest splay is in the two posts in the upper porch. An enclosed stair leads from the kitchen chamber to the attic, with plain featheredge. The attic shows heavy framing, pinned rafters, but no ridge. Cellar - chimney foundation is about 14' square. North fireplace is 5' 9" high. Two very heavy posts remain, with broad chamfer and knee. The main fireplace is on the northeast side, is of stone now bricked up, 93" high. Lintel is 15" x 11 1/2". Beaded, very broad boards on the stairs. Sill at northeast is 14 1/2" wide. Supports remain for corner fireplaces of an end chimney removed recently in extreme north front room. There is a sub-cellar to the northeast room with a stone floor. The room has a summer beam, a wooden grill in the wall, and eight over eight sash windows with old flat muntins 1" wide. Ell - built about 1785-95. Large raised paneled outside door. Practically a separate house. No cornerposts. Floor boards about 6" wide. Ceilings 9' 1". The 'porch' is about square, with two doors facing the entrance, each with nine pane sash. Muntins throughout are 7/8", but deep. The right door leads to an enclosed stair having plain rail above, with diagonal balusters. The left door, Dutch, leads to a pantry connecting with the rear kitchen. The southwest room, very large, has a plain wainscot with applied moulding, raised paneled doors with rippled mouldings and sunken panels on the reverse; brass knobs throughout. The fireplace projects considerably and has elaborate pilasters, on the side faces as well as on the front. The pilasters are fluted, with a delicate rope moulding in the lower part, set in a super-raised moulding, late and complex, with "ears" and is sunk. The mantel has flat modillions under, and triglyphs spaced beneath. A cornice around the ceiling has dentils. A high expanse of pine between the front windows to the ceiling. The room upstairs has a chair rail and an elaborate Adam-carved mantel, framed between sunken paneled pilasters with applied rope moulding.
