DescriptionFront entrance of the Connecticut State Library and Supreme Court building. Thirty-four granite steps lead from the street level to the entrance. The granite pillars were turned in Barre, Vermont, and each weighs 25 tons. Above the center doorway is an elaborate carving of the State Seal. The three large smooth panels above the cornice are carved with the words Knowledge, History, and Justice. Undated photo.
